M83 mastermind Anthony Gonzalez and company brought two selections from their latest album Junk to Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night, performing “Do It, Try It” and “Go.” It was the band’s first television performance since the addition of singer Kaela Sinclair.
Gonzalez copped Michael J. Fox’s werewolf-mask-and-varsity-jacket look from Teen Wolf, a suitable accoutrement for an album Gonzalez has described as inspired by kitschy ’70s and ’80s TV shows. (Rod Daniel, who directed the 1985 film, died last week.) Watch both performances below — look carefully and you’ll notice the guitarist honoring Prince by marking the late icon’s glyph on the back of one hand.
