Krist Novoselic Joins Paul McCartney for ‘Helter Skelter’ Performance in Seattle

If you’re a rock musician, technically, you don’t have to ask the surviving members of Nirvana for permission to perform in Seattle, but it’s respectful to at least get their blessing first. Even an all-time great like Paul McCartney is courteous enough to pay tribute, bringing fellow bassist Krist Novoselic on stage during his Emerald City set last night for a performance of the Beatles’ proto-metal classic “Helter Skelter.” Novoselic — who first played with Macca at the Concert for Sandy Relief — helped out on low-end, and also pitched in some backing “AHHHHHHHHH!!!“s as neeed.
