Kid Cudi‘s artistic ambitions have cycled him through rap, through modeling, through psych-rock, through acting, and now, through TV scriptwriting. Kid Cudi stopped by Talkhouse’s Film Podcast to talk to Paul Reubens, who’s known as Pee-Wee Herman.

Cudi, a longtime fan of Reubens, talked about a number of topics, including their first meeting at HBO’s How to Make It in America, Cudi’s encounter with a mountain lion, and the years-in-the-making Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday. The rapper also made a proposition to the comedian: What if Reubens starred in a TV pilot he wrote?

“I’m actually going to send you a script I’m working on right now — I want you to tell me if it’s crap of if it’s good,” Cudi says.

“I’m sure it’s gonna need an older white character in it,” Reubens joked.

Cudi explained he already has Reubens written into the show. The comic seemed into the idea, which makes sense because he’s been getting awfully busy again in recent years. In 2014, he starred in TV on the Radio’s “Happy Idiot” video.
