Weezer Go Back to Basics Again With ‘LA Girlz’

Update: Weezer have released their “LA Girlz” video. It’s below.

After releasing their most classic-’90s-sounding jam in decades last year with “Do You Wanna Get High?,” Weezer are again feeling Blue on new song “LA Girlz.” The Zane Lowe-premiered song, from the upcoming Weezer (The White Album), will give fans “Susanne” flashbacks with its waltzing power-pop, although its lyrical surrealism (including the bridge question “So would you mind if I was pregnant / I’ll sleep on the edge of your bed”) is strictly 21st-century Rivers. In any event, the patiently repeated “Does anybody love anybody as much as I love you baby?” climax will give you the springtime swoons soon enough.

Listen over at Beats 1. The White Album is out April 1.
