Eddie Vedder Covered Joe Jackson at a Fundraiser for His High School

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder dropped out of San Dieguito Academy, but the Encinitas, California high school was happy to have him back on Saturday for a surprise performance at a fundraising event. Vedder joined a band made up of teachers and former classmates to sing a cover of Joe Jackson’s “Got the Time.”

The venerated ukulele master then joined the percussion section for a rendition of the Modern Lovers’ “Roadrunner” featuring some current San Dieguito students.

We last saw Vedder two weeks ago, when he cropped up at an Adam Sandler show covering the Who. Pearl Jam’s upcoming 2016 tour includes normal, sensible venues like Bonnaroo and New Orleans Jazz Fest.
