Music greats Sting and Peter Gabriel announced that they’re going on a joint tour together this summer, a cross-country venture that they’re calling the “Rock Paper Scissors Tour.” In a video about the tour, Sting — who looks pretty good with a beard — explains that they’ll alternate solo sets. “We’ll do two songs together, and then we’ll choose who will do a set on their own — 15, 20 minutes — and then we’ll come together again,” he explains. One musician’s set choices will influence the other’s.
“I’m very happy that we’re taking the chance to experiment this way,” he continued in a statement on his website. “I think people will be intrigued, I certainly am.” The pair toured together in the ’80s for Amnesty International, but this latest trip brings them together again, and Sting says to expect hits. “People want to hear hits. I’ve never shied away from hits,” he said.
“What intrigues me is that you get a good bunch of musicians together and interesting things will happen,” Gabriel teases on Sting’s website. Tickets go on sale January 25 via Live Nation, and you all the stops are below.
