Tove Lo Turned the Weeknd’s ‘Real Life’ Into a Slick Dance Jam

Both Swedish pop star Tove Lo and moody crooner the Weeknd played Z100’s Jingle Ball this past weekend, and now the former has paid tribute to the latter with a cover of Abel Tesfaye’s blistering Beauty Behind the Madness track “Real Life.” Structured as a collaboration with G. Weber, Tove Lo’s rendition is a far more upbeat version of the tune, tossing on additional drum machines and newly structured harmonies. It’s really good, and really unexpected, and reignites all the hopes for a stellar second Tove Lo album (due sometime in 2016). Hear “Real Life” below.
