Rihanna, Who Still Hasn’t Released an Album in 2015, Is Spotify’s Most-Streamed Female Artist of the Year

Alleged pop star Rihanna still hasn’t released her theoretical album Anti, (or much else in 2015, for that matter), but despite that she managed to be the most-streamed female artist on Spotify this year. The streaming service revealed its annual Year in Music stats today, and the “Bitch Better Have My Money” singer was streamed 1 billion times by 57 million users. Rihanna, who hasn’t released an album since 2012’s Unapologetic, has shared only four tracks of new material this year. It’s worth noting that Adele’s 25 and Taylor Swift’s entire catalogue are not available to stream on Spotify.

Drake was the most-streamed artist overall, having been played more than 1.8 billion times by 46 million users. Justin Bieber set a new record for the most streams in a single day with 36 million streams on November 13, and Diplo, MØ, and DJ Snake’s “Lean On” was the most-streamed song in the world this year, with 540 million plays.
