CHVRCHES particular brand of glimmering electro-pop makes them well suited for gigantic drops and heart-swelling melodies. That’s what you’ll find on their Every Open Eye (one of the 50 Best Albums of 2015) stunner, “Clearest Blue,” which the Scottish trio brought to The Late Late Show with James Corden last night. With lead singer Lauren Mayberry leading the fist-pumping charge, CHVRCHES turned the volume up and the strobe lights on, leading Corden’s audience into a jubilant spiral of unadulterated musical joy.
