In the midst of his set kicking off SPIN‘s 2015 Year in Music showcase at Los Angeles’ Regent Theater, Philadelphia songwriter Alex G welcomed a pair of other SPIN favorites to the stage — Harmony Tividad and Cleo Tucker from Girlpool. Together, they performed a heartwarming call-and-response rendition of a lilting standout from Beach Music — one of SPIN‘s 50 Best Albums of 2015 — called “Brite Boy.” It was the first of many special moments in a night that also included performances from Chicago rapper Tink and L.A. indie rock act Best Coast.
