After changing the lyrics to their “Love Boat Captain” earlier this week to relate to last week’s horrific attacks in Paris, Pearl Jam showed that the events were still in their thoughts last night at their gig in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The grunge greats covered “I Want You So Hard (Boys Bad News),” possibly the signature hit for Eagles of Death Metal, the band who was performing when the tragedy at Le Bataclan unfolded. “We’ve never played this,” introduces frontman Eddie Vedder, and the performance is indeed somewhat ramshackle, but obviously passionate nonetheless.
