Earlier tonight, performers like Katy Perry, Sting, Jerry Seinfeld, Jim James, and more joined forces at Carnegie Hall for the David Lynch Foundation’s Change Begins Within benefit concert. Perry made the most of the night, backed by a full string section and accompanied by classical ballerinas — the star refashioned her biggest hits into gorgeously rendered, dramatic showstoppers. Instead of a synthesized drop in “Dark Horse,” a violinist sawed away furiously at her instrument; “Teenage Dream” became a heart-racing, string-heavy hourglass, its sand dropping rapidly. Watch footage of Perry’s Carnegie Hall performance below.
