Call him Future Balboa on the rapper’s 279th new song of 2015, “Last Breath.” The anthem is a contribution to the soundtrack of the upcoming Creed, seventh and latest entry in the indomitable Rocky film franchise. The astronaut leans into the historical legacy, with producers Metro Boomin and Ludwig Göransson sampling the horns of Bill Conti’s perma-jock jam theme to the original Rocky, “Gonna Fly Now” as the people’s champ of Atlanta chest-puffs “I’ll be a fighter ’til the end, ’til my last breath / I’ma hustle ’til my last breath.” It’s no “Eye of the Tiger,” but it’s better than “With Arms Wide Open,” certainly.
