Alain Johannes (formerly of Queens of the Stone Age) leads a supergroup of sorts called Ten Commandos, which also features Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam), Ben Shepherd (of Soundgarden), and Dimitri Coats (of OFF!). Today, they’re sharing their first single “Staring Down the Dust,” which enlists another grunge icon Mark Lanegan on vocals.
The song itself, with grimy guitars and throaty vocals, holds true to Coats’ 2014 promise that it’s a ‘little bit like Superunknown [. . .] with Alain’s kind of Stevie Wonder vibe.” Listen here and look out for their debut LP some time in November on Monkeywrench.
