If you’ve been frequenting clubs and dance music events this summer in the U.S. and elsewhere, chances are you’ve heard the belly-scraping bass groans of Swedish producer Jonas Rathsman‘s latest track, “New Generation.” He and other producers and DJs have been peppering their sets with instantly recognizable strains of his new track, including chiming percussion reminiscent of Bonobo‘s temperate rainforest-appropriate beats. It’s also the A-side of the Sam Smith and Disclosure remixer’s debut EP, New Generation, out on vinyl October 23 and digital November 6 (via Kompakt imprint KX, which launches with this release).
Of the track, Rathsman says, “I have been a long time supporter of Kompakt Records and really respect the artists and music they represent. I love the concept of KX, and so excited to be releasing with them. I have been testing ‘New Generation’ for sometime now in the club, and it has become such a focal point of my sets.
