Kendrick Lamar Performs a Medley of ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ Songs on ‘Colbert’

Kendrick Lamar was the last musical guest on Stephen Colbert’s last show, so it’s a nice bit of symmetry that he was slated to make an appearance during the comedian’s first week on the Late Show. Wednesday night, he showed up bearing a host of material from the new album, To Pimp a Butterfly, that he released since the pair last united.

With help from Thundercat and Bilal, who played on that record and who appeared on Kendrick’s last Colbert set, he ran through an energetic medley of “Wesley’s Theory”, “Momma”, “King Kunta”, and “u.” Watch that here or the full episode over at the Late Show with Stephen Colbert‘s website.
