Ice Cube may not seem like a frail Dickensian protagonist — he did make one of SPIN’s Best 300 Albums of the Past 30 Years after all — but he’ll be just that in a new adaptation of A Christmas Carol. The N.W.A founder will star as the Scrooge role in a new film just acquired by Universal Pictures called Humbug, according to Deadline reports.
Tim Story, who manned the Fantastic Four movies that didn’t suck, as well as last year’s Think Like a Man Too, will direct the film. Cube will reportedly receive up to an eight figure check for his role, but no further details are available at this time.
