CHVRCHES Launch Soaring, Standout New ‘Every Open Eye’ Track, ‘Clearest Blue’

[articleembed id=”156920″ title=”CHVRCHES Give Advice on How to Avoid the Sophomore Slump” image=”157419″ excerpt=”It's early in the morning in downtown Brooklyn, and the members of Scottish electropop group CHVRCHES are awake but slightly confused: Iain Cook (guitarist, bassist, and keyboardist), Martin Doherty (synth player, vocalist, and arm-flailing dancer), and lilting-voiced singer Lauren Mayberry are on their way to the borough's historic Green-Wood Cemetery”]

Annie Mac has been on a tear this afternoon, premiering one new song after another, but the latest track to make its debut on her BBC Radio show might be the best. Delightful Scot-pop trio CHVRCHES have dropped another single from their upcoming sophomore album, a soaring earnest and danceable track titled “Clearest Blue.” It makes an impact from the rapidly rising opening notes, but the song really blossoms about halfway through with an absolutely breathtaking breakdown that bursts through the tension they’ve been building up. It’s an emotional, exuberant and uplifting ride, and you can stream it below. Look for Every Open Eye out on September 25 via Glassnote.
