Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger of Nickelback infamy announced that they are separating after nearly two years of marriage. Lavigne announced the split in an Instagram post “with a heavy heart,” explaining that the two “are still, and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other.” The accompanying picture was from the pair’s July 2013 wedding. While it’s sad to see another celebrity couple call it quits, at least they’ll always have the memories. Just “look at this photograph.”

It is with heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today. Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we’ve created many unforgettable moments. We are still, and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other. To all our family, friends and fans, thank you sincerely for the support.
