In our recent All Eyes On profile on Danish black metal composer Amalie Bruun, she said that in her work as Myrkur, she’s “never been very good at grey areas,” and her latest single “Skadi” seems to follow those same extreme impulses. Unlike a few of the singles from her new album M that suggested a balance between her crushing inclinations and the Scandinavian folk songs that run through her blood, this one cloaks itself almost entirely in screams, squelches and swooning folds of darkness.
