Following a sure-to-be-historic joint opening performance from Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis took over Downtown Los Angeles for the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night.
Performing the duo’s brand-new song, also called “Downtown,” the rapper bounded down the street joined by Foxy Shazam on vocals, plus hip-hop greats Kool Moe Dee, Melle Mel, and Grandmaster Caz — exactly like in the song’s video. (Plus some impressive gymnastics.)
