Following Beyoncé‘s extended performance and award at last year’s VMAs, Kanye West has been announced as the winner of this year’s Video Vanguard Award. The award is given each year to celebrate an artists lifetime achievements in the medium of music videos. The Beatles won the inaugural version of the prize in 1984, so this is really just another thing that cements his recent connection with Paul McCartney.
