It turns out that Jason Derulo’s 2010 single “The Sky’s the Limit” was oddly prophetic, as the pop singer was recently kicked off of an airplane before takeoff in what he called a “little mishap.”

The Everything is 4 singer was set to depart on a Southwest Airlines flight to Los Angeles leaving from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport when there was a bit of a problem. A rep from Southwest told Entertainment Tonight that the singer and his entourage didn’t proper boarding protocol and was causing a scene, according to complaints from fellow passengers.

“We were literally just trying to not cause a ruckus,” Derulo told ET following yesterday’s Teen Choice Awards. Derulo said his security crew was attempting to board through a TSA pre-check to avoid paparazzi, but the system was down so they couldn’t. They were eventually able to board the plane through normal means but were kicked off shortly after taking their seats. “They were like, ‘You guys got to get out of the plane.’” he told ET. “They kicked us all off the plane.”

“I had nothing to do with it,” he said. “I didn’t say anything to anybody. So they kicked me off a plane. Southwest, you got some problems! But it’s all good. I learned from the experience. And I’m getting myself a jet so I won’t have that problem.”

Southwest says they refunded Derulo and his team.
