Wu-Tang Clan co-founder GZA is in the midst of making his latest studio album Dark Matter, and Friday on Facebook he shared the unfortunate news that he’d be forced to cancel a few upcoming European tour dates because he had the opportunity to work with a “very rare collaborator.”
As Pitchfork points out that collaborator, legendary film composer Vangelis, is pretty rare indeed. Though he’s famous for the iconic scores to Blade Runner and Chariots of Fire, Vangelis has been pretty quiet in recent years and scarcely works with people from outside the film world. How GZA was able to pull that off remains a mystery, but there’s a reason they call him the Genius.
