Update: A man who claimed to be Anthony called into Colorado’s KBCO-FM radio station yesterday to talk about his emotional experience. “My mum died about six months ago and I just got back from Europe putting her in her crypt,” he told the station “He [Grohl] started singing it and I felt all emo.” Anthony said he was not drunk, as many assumed, but admitted he “might have had a little Colorado green.” (via NME)

An emotional fan was Foo Fighting back tears when Dave Grohl serenaded him with an acoustic performance of “My Hero” the other night. The group was playing a show in Greenwood Village, Colorado, when “Anthony,” concertgoer in the front few rows began to tear up. Grohl spotted him, and cheekily called him out before inviting him onstage.

“Where are you going motherf—ker? Get back here!” Grohl demanded, according to Alternative Nation. “No you get here, front row. I’m going to sing this to your crying grown man ass right now. Front row, against the rail, right here, get in here motherf—ker, you drunk emotional mess!”

Grohl continued:

Don’t cry motherf—ker, I know you’re drunk, don’t cry. Are you crying right now? You’re f—king crying aren’t you? (Laughs) I love you man, look at you, holy shit. You know what, f—k that speech I was just going to make, I’m singing this shit to you right now. I’m gonna sing this f—king song right in your face, man to man, prison style, I’m going man to man. Me and you, I want some real tears, you better sing it with me. (Laughs) Don’t make me cry, because I promised I wouldn’t do this.”

Watch some videos of the event below. And, “Anthony,” if you’re reading, we say all this with love. Sounds like a memorable experience.
