Young Thug‘s command of wordless adlibs has always been peerless, but he’s pushing that ecstasy to its very limits on a new track, reportedly from his forthcoming album Hy!£UN35, called “Pacifier.” Over an uncharacteristically busy beat from Atlanta’s heavy-lidded superproducer Mike WiLL Made-It, Thugger offers some rapidfire bars that reference Miley Cyrus, baby bottles, and pacifiers, but then in the chorus he bounces between a practiced patois and joyful scatting. It’s refreshing to hear this playful side of Young Thug again after his uniformly dusky Barter 6, and the litany of legal issues he’s had this week. Listen here.
