Last we heard from Swedish icon of cool Robyn, she’d dropped an awesomely gnarly, rave-worthy banger called “Love Is Free.” Well, she followed that up on Thursday by premiering a new song from her upcoming EP, La Bagatelle Magique, on Beats 1 that’s much more in-line with her old-school pop roots.
“Set Me Free” continues the apparent liberty-loving naming convention from the first track, but soars with a gleeful, bubblegum beat and infectious, soothing “coos.” In lesser hands it could be a little too sugary, but Robyn gives the peppy track just the right amount of edge.
