Just a couple months after his last spirited standalone single “Baltimore,” Prince is back with another track. This one’s called “HARDROCKLOVER” and as you might expect from its title, it features the Purple One in guitar-slinging mode, doing his best fuzzed-out Jimi-indebted solos over mountainous basslines that would make even Thundercat proud. Relatedly, can you imagine Flying Lotus and Thundercat on one of these recent Prince tracks? Someone needs to set that up.
