Jessie Ware affiliate Julio Bashmore has taken his taken his soulful house production skills to task on his remix of Disclosure’s “Holding On,” which last was epically visualized with a dystopian music video. A fidgety synth sets a building, frantic energy that’s matched by a quickly pulsing kick drum reinforced by a lockstep bass line. Jazz vocalist Gregory Porter’s voice has been completely untouched but also disengaged from the original, floating overhead like an alien voice as Bashmore’s “elevated” mix blasts off.
