The Grateful Dead closed the curtain on their career with a farewell concert on Sunday night at Chicago’s Soldier Field. Longtime followers of the beloved band were reportedly satisfied with the send-off, but the gig almost took a tragic turn: According to the Chicago Tribune, one fan fell from a railing nearly 25 feet to the ground. Per the Tribune:

About 9 p.m. Sunday, police were called to the 1400 block of Museum Campus Drive after a 41-year-old man sitting on a railing inside the stadium fell about 20 to 25 feet, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago Police Department spokesman. The fall appeared accidental, police said.

The fan was then transported to a nearby hospital, and police said yesterday that his condition had stabilized.
