Destroyer‘s highly anticipated Poison Season is out next month, so on the heels of debut single “Dream Lover” he’s shared another elastic, orchestral ballad from that LP. “Girl in a Sling” features Dan Bejar engaging in his usual hyperliterate melodrama, but this one’s paired with a clip that embraces what director David Galloway calls the “tragic” tone of the track. There’s an abstract narrative that seems to be about a photograph of a house and the passage of time. But you’ll want to stick around for the shots of a maudlin Bejar milling about, working on the aforementioned photo in a darkroom and singing along in a literal dark room. Watch it below.
