Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, better known by just their last names (and hit TV show) Key and Peele, are really, really good at elevating a stupid idea and making it hilarious. Adding rapper and Nancy Grace panelist 2 Chainz to the mix just makes things even better — and weirder.
In a new skit, filmed not for their show but the alt comedy collective Jash, Key and Peele are Phoenix, Arizona’s, best wedding band, ABSORBTION. Their shtick is taking popular songs, but personalizing them for weddings. Thing is, they do a pretty lousy job, despite their inflated egos. If nothing else, the skit is worth watching just to see a hilariously disinterested 2 Chainz sing a bad cover of Katy Perry’s “Firework.”
