Timbaland Announces New Missy Elliott Single, Produced By Pharrell
It's reportedly on its way next month
Update: Missy tweeted that the song might not come in July, but at this rate, it’s still so overwhelmingly exciting to think about the prospect of new music from the rap icon:
@RapUp sowwwwy no dates on a new single but I’ll let y’all know whenever I decide to come??😘

Pharrell brought out Missy Elliott as last year’s BET Awards, and now the officially overbooked producer and Apple Music DJ is set to helm Misdemeanor’s upcoming comeback single, due in July. According to Timbaland — Missy’s longtime producer — her new song’s set to launch sometime next month. Speaking at yesterday’s ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards, Tim had this to say:
I love my sister to death. I know the tabloids love to talk, and I’ma say it now. Her first single is from my cousin, and yes we are family, Pharrell. And one thing about VA, we stick together.
Watch that here. “Timbaland has always changed music over and over and over again,” the “Work It” rapper said later in a pretaped appearance during the awards. “I’ve been knowing Tim since high school. He’s always been a genius.” Missy is set to headline next month’s Pemberton in British Columbia following her recent appearance during Katy Perry’s Super Bowl Halftime show.
