Chicago pop-punk unit Knuckle Puck are currently traversing the country with the 2015 Vans Warped Tour, but that hasn’t stopped them from dropping morsels for their upcoming debut album, Copacetic. The latest track they’ve shared is called “True Contrite,” and while it’s full of bright hooks yelled at top volume, it also manages some meditative moments, fitting a wide emotional arc into its five-minute runtime. There’s plenty of headbang-friendly rocking out, of course, but the song’s also peppered with sudden drops in volume, including a shimmering downtempo outro.
