Future Islands Will Mark Their 1000th Show With North Carolina Celebration

Long before Future Islands’ Essential LP Singles and that fateful Letterman appearance, they were known as live workhorses. They haven’t really stopped touring in the wake of their wider acclaim, and they’ll soon celebrate a big milestone in the touring history of the band: their 1000th show. Today, they’ve announced a big show in support of that marker on July 26 at the Carrboro Town Commons in Carrboro, North Carolina — the state that they’ve played more than any other. Longtime friends Dan Deacon and Ed Schrader’s Music Beat will also play. Lonnie Holley and Valient Thorr will round out the bill. Full details and tickets are available over at their website.
