Delta Spirit, an indie-rock five-piece project with members scattered between Brooklyn, Austin and Los Angeles, have announced a Deluxe Edition of their 2014 album, Into the Wide. In anticipation, they’ve shared a new track from the release, a cover of the classic Cream cut “I Feel Free.” Where the original is a hazy piece of bluesy psych-pop, Delta Spirit’s version is a revved-up dance number, replete with handclaps, frantic drum fills, and gritty four-part vocals. It’s no less friendly to classic-rock radio than the original, and it should also fit comfortably into the band’s raucous live sets.
