Willis Earl Beal Announces New Album and Drops First Single, ‘Flying So Low’
'Noctunes' is slated for an August 28 release date
Lo-fi wanderer Willis Earl Beal has announced that he’ll be releasing a new album later this summer. Noctunes, Beal’s fifth album and follow-up to last year’s Experiments in Time, promises to be an introspective, minimalistic record, as evidenced by the dreamy first single, “Flying So Low.”
“People had all these ideas about what I was supposed to be,” the singer-songwriter said in a statement. “I had only ever wanted to make lullabies. … I wanted to create this persona that could say everything perfectly with very little. The record, to me, is a perfect record. I listen to that thing a lot, and it helps me.” Listen to “Flying So Low” below, and look for Noctunes on August 28 via Tender Loving Empire.
