The purposefully organic Los Angeles-based house duo Wild & Free, whose press points out their dance music as being made “conspicuously by hand,” have announced their presence with gentle, sublime authority on their first single. “Tropique” and “Low Pressure,” the A and B-side respectively of the debut 12-inch, are blissfully chill 4/4 jams in the vein of Classixx or early RAC, with fat bass lines, tropical-tinged percussion and universally agreeable party sentiments (“Let’s get dowwwwwn!“) As far as mental-vacation music goes, it’s hard to get much more escapist than this — low pressure, indeed.
