Death Cab for Cutie released their eighth album, Kintsugi, earlier this year, and now electronic artist (and Muppet designer) Dan Deacon has remixed one of the standout tracks, transforming “Black Sun” from gloomy to glitchy. Deacon speeds the track up while keeping it serene by burying a chorus of frantic, synth jitters underneath a wash of relaxed and spacey tones. It’s quite a trip, and very much in line with the sounds of Deacon’s most recent album, Gliss Riffer, only with the addition and restraint of Ben Gibbard’s voice. Listen below.
