Coldplay Celebrate BBC Radio DJ With ‘Gone But Not F. Cotton’

Since the release of Ghost Stories, Coldplay have had some extra time on their hands. Earlier this week frontman Chris Martin put together a Game of Thrones musical, and Friday he unveiled another lighthearted work. In celebration of DJ Fearne Cotton‘s departure from BBC Radio 1, Martin penned a tribute song with a gloriously bad pun for a title: “Gone But Not F. Cotton.” It’s an upbeat, if unadorned, piano number with lyrics that thank Cotton for “the records [she] played” and “introducing us to Lana Del Rey.” Even David Letterman couldn’t get a personalized send-off quite like this. You can listen to the song in full below.
