Trailblazing psychedelic rock outfit the 13th Floor Elevators reunited and performed live together for the first time in almost a half-century over the weekend at Austin’s Levitation Festival. The Sunday night show marked the first time that the four surviving members of the Texas band — Roky Erickson, Tommy Hall, John Ike Walton, and Ronnie Leatherman — played together since 1967. Though there are no plans for a tour beyond this show, the group sounded great, as you can hear in the lively fan-shot video of them playing “Earthquake,” from their 1967 album Easter Everywhere. Check it out above.
