Violent Femmes Return With Their First EP in 15 Years

The 'Happy New Year' project was released for Record Store Day

About a month after unveiling the single “Love Love Love Love Love,” the Violent Femmes have returned with their first crop of new material since 2000’s Freak Magnet. Dropped in the form of a four-song EP called Happy New Year, the effort comes courtesy of Record Store Day and was recorded in Hobart, Tasmania this past New Year’s Eve (thus the title) following a concert at the Sydney Opera House. The band, as some might already know, reunited in 2013 after a brief split. Stream the entire thing below via YouTube, see the track list, and look forward to when the band returns to the studio this spring to record more new stuff.

Happy New Year EP track list:
1. “Happy New Year Next Year”
2. “Love Love Love Love Love”
3. “Good At/For Nothing”
4. “Fast Horses”
