As part of an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit yesterday, Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker goaded fans into asking him for a new song off the Aussie band’s much-anticipated upcoming album, Currents. Having been sufficiently prodded, Parker shared “Disciples,” a short-but-psychedelic two-minute track that dramatically switches fidelity a couple times at the sound of a cassette being stopped. It’s pretty delightful, actually, as were some of the singer / guitarist’s AMA answers about Kanye West (“There’s something about his overt confidence in the face of judgement and doubt… it only propels you forward as an artist”) and Mac DeMarco (“i left coachella in their van and [his crew] were waving HUGE dildo out the window at passerbys. then we ended up in his jacuzzi somehow”).
