If Black Sabbath never have a farewell concert, will the band ever end? It’s philosophical questions like this that come up as the saga of the iconic metal band’s twilight days continue, as now Ozzy Osbourne says they’re going to have a farewell tour next year. Previously, it was believed they were going to say goodbye following a performance at Ozzfest Japan in November of this year, but that show was changed to be a solo Ozzy show without any explanation. Complicating things is the heated (and public) dispute between the band and ex-drummer Bill Ward.
But now, according to Blabbermouth, Osbourne gave out new information at a press conference in Sao Paolo following the Monsters Of Rock festival. “We all live in different countries and some of them want to work and some of them don’t want to, I believe. But we are going to do another tour together,” he said. Osbourne added that he is going to continue his solo career, and “then at the beginning of next year, I’m going out with Sabbath. The Sabbath thing is folding up after the next tour.”
Bill Ward has yet to comment.
