There’s few musicians at the moment more beloved than Kendrick Lamar. Certain luxuries have started to come along with the status that his latest jazz-rap opus To Pimp a Butterfly has afforded him. The latest of those opportunities is the chance to throw out the first pitch before his hometown Los Angeles Dodgers take the field on April 27.

As Billboard points out, when K Dot announced that the debut of his “King Kunta” video a couple of days ago, the Dodgers’ social media team replied with their own news that he’d be appearing at their stadium soon. Who knows how Kendrick will stack up against recent musical first-pitch throwers? Will he be surprisingly capable, like Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and noted baseball fan Jack White? Or will he be embarassingly awful like 50 Cent? Only time will tell.
