Stream Holly Miranda’s Thoroughly Irresistible ‘All I Want Is to Be Your Girl’

Holly Miranda

When a love song starts with the lyrics “The days are shorter, but the nights are long / We could fuck in the sun and then dance till dawn,” you know that it means business. Indeed, Detroit-via-New York singer/songwriter Holly Miranda is messing around with no part of the unequivocally titled “All I Want Is to Be Your Girl,” an utterly undeniable statement of romantic intent. The song may be uncompromising in its insistence, but it’s also winning enough in its classic pop structuring, sweet acoustic strumming and matter-of-fact lyrics (“I wasn’t looking for love, but you found me / And I got a lot of control when you’re not around me”) that Miranda shouldn’t reasonably expect much pushback anyway.

Stream the valentine of a song below, and look out for Holly Miranda’s self-titled second solo LP when it drops May 19 on Dangerbird Records.
