Stream Scott Weiland and Pharrell Williams’ Unreleased ‘Happy’ Collaboration
It was supposed to go on the Stone Temple Pilots frontman's sophomore LP, '"Happy" In Galoshes'
In addition to N.E.R.D.’s “Happy” and his 2014 smash single of the same name, Pharrell apparently recorded another track called “Happy” in 2006 with former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland. It was reportedly meant to go on Weiland’s sophomore solo effort, but Pharrell ended up taking the track for himself. Anyway, the lost track — which at one point turned up on a promo CD that came out before “Happy” In Galoshes — recently appeared in the comments section of Weiland’s PledgeMusic campaign for a new album with the Wildabouts. Though it’s not identical to the most up-to-date rendition of “Happy,” it’s easy to hear how one begot the other. Check it out here.
