Stream Diet Cig’s Lovable New EP, ‘Over Easy’

The physical version drops on February 26

New Paltz duo Diet Cig — made up of Alex Luciano and Noah Bowman — have unleashed the stream of their debut EP, Over Easy. As noted in SPIN’s premiere of their cheeky “Scene Sick” video, these guys are, for lack of a better term, ridiculously endearing. The effortlessly charming and shoulder-shrugging Luciano embraces youth on “Breathless” when she sings “I don’t have any kitchenware / But I can walk ’round in my underwear / In my first apartment.”

Later, she speaks her mind on garage-pop-punk tunes like “Harvard,” which tells the former object of her affection to “fuck your ivy league sweater.” And yet, she’s not afraid to show vulnerability when in “Cardboard,” Luciano doesn’t have the energy to deal with a scenester type who asked her to his show: “The thought of seeing you depressed me too much to go / I smell like cigarettes and last night’s booze / And I hate everybody here but that’s no excuse.” Listen to Over Easy below, and buy it when it hits shelves on February 24.
