On Friday, Tyler, the Creator made an appearance on the surreal Adult Swim talk show The Eric André Show, but he’s already showed up again in another guest star spot on the channel during the season finale of Black Dynamite. In the hourlong episode, which has been billed as a musical about police brutality, Tyler stars as a talking poodle named Broto who accompanies the show’s title character when he starts hallucinating a take on the Wizard of Oz after being hit in the head with a brick. In Black Dynamite’s version of the musical, the fairy godmother is replaced by a hallucinatory James Brown (“the fairy godfather of soul”) and the Wicked Witch of the West is supplanted by the “Wicked Bitch of the West Side” (an overzealous police officer). Erykah Badu, as previously announced, also makes an appearance.
