The Decemberists Are Streaming ‘What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World’
The band's new full-length hits stores next week
A week in advance of the official What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World release date, the Decemberists are streaming their seventh studio album on iTunes. Featuring such recent releases as “Make You Better” and “The Wrong Year,” What a Terrible World is, according to frontman Colin Meloy, “blessedly free of concept.”
Describing the learned folkies’ forthcoming effort to the Guardian, Meloy continued: “The idea was let’s give ourselves time and let the songs dictate what that cohesiveness would be. That was something we had never done. It was conceptual in the sense we wanted to to take away all concepts, and as an experiment take all the time we needed to make the record.” Listen via iTunes, and grab What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World when it officially drops on January 20.
